Typical of many Uber drivers, the late Manu worked as a part-time driver. Her killing, which left some parts of him missing, initially made eyewitnesses predict that, some money ritual allegations may be the cause of his death and true to preliminary investigations, it is indeed so.

As according to ASP Ahianyo, a prime suspect identified as 32year old Rashid Ibrahim, had indeed hired the services of the deceased to cart some speakers in the vicinity into his car, but unknown to the deceased, Rashid pulled a machete he had concealed on the way and started attacking from behind, killing him in the process.

The prime suspect in the murder of a 33-year-old head teacher of Atonsu-based Rogel Montesorri Basic School says he was motivated by the quest to get rich to commit that heinous crime, the police has said.

Rashid Ibrahim, was arrested on Sunday after the decapitated body of the late Israel Agyei Manu was discovered at Feyiase new site, as according to the police, he told investigators he acted on assurances of some people he consulted to bring a human head for money ritual.

Prime Suspect, Who confessed to the murder for money rituals

“Yesterday (Sunday) after the incident, we had a tip-off that he was the one behind the killing of this gentleman so we quickly apprehended him. Initially, he denied the incident; he denied it that he was the one behind it and during further interviews and questioning, he broke down and actually confessed, adding that he committed the crime alone,” ASP Godwin Ahianyo, Public Relations Officer of Ashanti Regional Police Command had said.

Later on, Rashid led police to retrieve a machete he allegedly used to butcher the deceased head teacher. “[Rashid] led police to the scene and then also where he had hidden the machete he used in committing the crime and so police retrieved the machete as well. He mentioned some persons to be those that lured him; that they told him that if he wants to make money, he should go and get the head of a human being and bring it so that they could help him get enough money,” ASP Ahianyo added.
