"Kaaka was a member of #FixTheCountry movement", Burla Mundi chastised committee

A news anchor with TV3, Ms Burla Mundi has taken the Justice Kingsley Koomson's committee to the cleaners for what many describe as 'attempts to rope in and incriminate the media' regarding the murder of Ibrahim Mohammed and the two other civilians.

The three member committee which was empanelled by the interior minister to probe the killings in Ejura recently has almost implicated the media.

In the opinion of the committee, a false reportage that Kaaka was a member of #FixTheCountry movement inflated passions leading to the chaos and subsequent shooting and killing of the other two. The chairman of the committee told Erastus Asare Donkor of Multimedia on Wednesday that his information had it that the slained Ibrahim Mohammed was an NPP member hence couldn't be a member of the #FixTheCountry movement.

The committee has subsequently advanced this position till date inviting a lot of criticisms and condemnations from a section of the populace.

Burla Mundi is one of those who strongly disagree with the position taken by the committee. On TV3's New Day show monitored by CitizenOne today, the TV personality took the committee of inquiry to the classroom. She pointed to Mr. Kwesi Kwarteng, an NPP communicator who shared the same opinion with members of the committee that, "#FixTheCountry movement is not a political party but a social media movement whose main aims are to identify problems within the country and call on government to fix them. This is exactly what Kaaka was doing", she added.

According to the host, one did not need to be a member of a particular political party before he or she could join the campaign. "In fact there are people from various political backgrounds including the NPP, NDC, CPP and others who are part of this movement", she stressed.

"Burla Mundi said the Committee's advancement of Kaaka's membership or otherwise to #FixTheCountry movement was needless and a waste of time.
