Safety accident

Burning house kills 4 persons leaving survivors with severe bodily burns at Amansie District.

A house under severe fire explosion at Manso in the Amansie District has killed four people leaving others with severe bruises and bodily burns. The accident happened at a time when most of the tenants were indoors.

According to a survivor who disclosed the news to Angel TV, he and her small daughter were indoors on that day. Then immediately saw huge fire coming down from the ceiling into the room. He saw the wires and other items being consumed by the fire and started falling from the ceiling into the various rooms.

This started the whole fire and the house turned into flames. Several attempt by volunteers helped to bring the fire under control but it was too late to save the four tenants.

According to the survivor, his small child though got burnt also survived and receiving treatment at the Manso Government hospital.

The people in the community have far advanced plans to bury the four dead people on Tuesday, 13th April, 2021 at Manso.

The Ghana fire service will carry out their investigations to analyse the actual cause of the fire accident and bring out their report at the appropriate time. But it is believed that a faulty ceiling wire could have generated the fire at the ceiling and extended into the rooms in the house. This is a pathetic news. May their souls rest in perfect peace.

Even though, the house is burnt down, the fire service is expected by law to carry out swift investigation into the actual cause of this fire and advice the public on safety measures to prevent further fires in future.

We are also advising tenants and landlords to reach agreements to change outdated faulty electrical wires that are likely to cause fire outbreak and replace them with modern quality wires that are durable and safe.

The landlords should also check their tenants to know the electrical gadgets in their rooms and restrict them from using illegal ones.

The law must deal with culprits who break these fire regulations and used illegal gadgets indoors to cause accident. The law is no respecter of persons. All tenants must obey fire rules in their living places.

Fire tenders must also be made available in every house to serve as extinguisher to quench minor fires in times of fire outbreak.

Adequate steps must be taken to prevent future recurrence of this similar disaster.
