The President of the land, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration are currently begging alms from the general public in other to build a National Cathedral for God meanwhile look at what some newborn babies and mothers go through at a hospital in Ashanti Region.
Looking at the pictures below, some newly born babies and mothers are sleeping on a bare floor. This is the Manhyia government in the Ashanti Region. This is the stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and instead of the government seeking help and furnish this hospital with more beds he is begging for alms to build a cathedral in Accra.
This is the reason why some Political Analysts and Ghanaians have stated that this government seems to lack priority in terms of doing what is needy before doing what is right. For these nursing mothers to sleep on the bare floor have a lot of health implications. Some may develop back pains.
This is the reason why Ex-President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were very busy constructing hospitals and furnishing them with modern equipment. But this Nana Addo's government seems to be interested in the cathedral more than hospitals.
Newborn babies and mothers should be given the best attention and healthcare because they are both vulnerable to health implications after delivery. The floor could be dirty, have insects like ants, and mosquitoes could be disturbing them.
Checking the video well, you could see that some of the nursing mothers are sleeping on walkways. This is really bad, what if someone by mistake steps on them. Whoever is responsible for this needs to take action now and provide these newborn babies and their mothers with hospital beds. This is the 21st Century and this should not be happening in a country like Ghana.
