May her Soul Rest in Perfect Peace: Bawumia's mother laid to rest

After days on feeling unwell, the mother of Ghana's current vice president passes on peacefully.

The late Hajia Mariama Bawumia died at the age of 82 years. 

She has been laid to rest in their family house in Walewale. She was buried at the same spot with her husband the late Mumuni Bawumia, at their house in Walewale in the North East region.


Notable personalities such as Freddie Blay, John Boadu, Sammy Awuku, etc were present for the occasion.

According to the Islam tradition, persons who die needs to be buried with immediate effect. She has been laid to rest peacefully to rest in the bosom of The Maker.

This comes after Dr. Bawumia's mother was confirmed dead on Monday, 13th September after battling a short illness.

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, the former president, John Dramani and others have all commiserate the vice president for such a loss.

The National Chief Imam was also president at the funeral grounds to commiserate and make a final farewell.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.
