According to the victim ( the farmer, ), the Fulani herdsmen have been removing his yam from the yam mounts which he has recently sowed a couple of weeks ago. He has warned them several times to desist from such practice but they were adamant.
Yesterday he met the herdsmen in the farm again with the same behaviour. He tried to talk to them in an angry manner but they beat him mercilessly.
Unknowingly to the herdsmen, the farmer has a gun in the yam barn so he shot one of the them on the leg.
Because he was beaten badly with bruises all over his body and restless, he could not run and the herdsmen took the gun from him and beat him again up to the point of death and left him at the farm.
His wife who saw the time they were beating her husband run home and inform the community members but because it was far from home, the herdsmen fled away before they got there.
They pour water on the victim at the farm before he could gain some strength and they took him to hospital and he is currently receiving treatment.
The residents in the area therefore admonished all farmers in the Neighboring communities to to precautions again Fulani herdsmen.
