Heavy rain amidst storm and lights out has caused damages in the Sissala West District in separate communities with various degrees of affliction, at Bullu community, properties, structures, and belongings are demolished and persons supplant. The rains which started on the 28th of April has destroyed over 15 light poles and has resulted in power cut within most sections of Gwollu in the Upper West Region. Some number of persons have been displaced due to the magnitude of the rain and its effects on houses, as a result, a girl perceived to be within the ages of 9 has drowned in the Bully dam within the district.
At separate communities in the same district, it is reported that same rain storm destroyed 15 high tension poles of VRA, houses and properties at Kupulima, Gberima JHS, lower primary and a bore hole pluck.
The District Nadmo, assembly and other stakeholders have been called Upon to aid victims.
Nine years old basic school girl got drowned at Bullu dam on Wednesday 28th April, at 2pm, she was allegedly sent by her mother to buy vegetables with her colleagues for their supper, a fulani man tried to rescue the girl to no avail, a farmer at the dam whose name given only as Mahama rescued the innocent girl to the bank of the dam before the parents of the deceased arrived
She was ceded home by the family and buried immediately around 3:30pm.
