The household of Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has planned the final funeral rite for the late Hajia Mariama Bawumia to be held on Sunday, October 24.
The mother of the Vice President kicked the bucket peacefully on Monday, September 13 in Accra.
Her body was, then, carried to Walewale in the North-East Region, where she was laid to rest on Tuesday, September 14 in conformity with Islamic traditions.

Several sympathisers including religious and traditional authorities were in Walewale to grieve with the Vice President and his household.
On Thursday, September 16, the third-day Padua prayers were held.
All 16 regional imams in Ghana were in Walewale to recite the whole chapters of the Holy Qur’an to yearn for the mercy and favours of Allah towards the deceased Hajia Mariama.

Additional session of recitation was performed for the members of the family and all sympathisers who have been mourning with the family.
