The calm demeanor of the new Inspector General of Police(IGP), George Akuffo Dampare has absolutely no correlation with his work ethics as he cracks his whip of duty. In the past few days many Ghanaians have come to see, rather pleasantly the effective and proactive manner with which the Ghana police service has been effecting its constitutional mandate.
Just within a matter of days, certain acts of some well known people which some time back would have been ignored by the law officers are now being taken seriously. Not that new laws have been set since the new boss came, but rather a reinforcement of laws many people were ignorant of or took it for granted.
Three popular personalities in the country, Funny Face, Shatta Wale and Medikal have landed in the grasp of the police because of certain acts related to guns and killings. Whiles Shatta Wale and Funny Face have already had their first day at court, Medikal, known privately as Samuel Adu Frimpong had his day at court today. His case is related to the brandishing of a weapon. There are however rumors that there is more to his case.
