Another daylight robbery in the Ashanti Region as four armed robbers invade a Mobile money shop made away with One hundred and forty thousand Ghana cedis (GhS140,000) and shot a man.
According to Nana Yaw Gyimah who was present at the time of the incident, disclosed that they were all at Buokrom Estate Taxi rank where four ladies run a mobile money business in a shop as well as do receive Light and Water Bills almost they assist customers with all the financial transactions, making the place always busy and yesterday wasn't an exceptional.
While business was ongoing 4 young guys arrived with from 2 motorbikes, three of them entered the shop thinking they were there for transaction. Shortly they started giving warning shot in the room as they commanded all the customers and the vendors to go down on the floor, that was when they realized the guys were armed robbers.
Fortunately one the ladies managed to find her way into the washroom and called a friend outside to have informed the police, he informed the taxi drivers to join him so they move and rescue them but they were afraid seems the guys were armed and decided to wait till the police arrival. Out of curiosity he tried going closer to the door, unfortunately he was shot right in front of the door.
They made away with that huge amount of money and all their mobile phones include the customers who were in the room.
As at the time the police arrived, they have already gone, while the victim was still having life, lying in a pool of blood, quickly he was rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Sadly information reaching me this morning confirms that the guy has passed on. He is identified as Collins Dapaah in his early 30s.
I think money money vendor should adopt 'plan B' in their business by installing CCTV cameras at their work places if possible deploy the service of security personnel. The attack on them in the country is becoming unbearable.
