Nadowli/Kaleo District flooded after heavy downpour

The Nadowli/Kaleo District in the Upper West Region has been flooded with water yesterday on 13th of August 2021. The rain started in the night of 13th to 14th August 2021 late in the afternoon around 2:00pm where it happens to subside.

As a result of this heavy perennial flooding four communities has been cut-off from the regional capital Wa. The flood has eroded part off the road creating a way for the water to go which render this communities to be cut-off from the other communities and the regional capital as well.

One of the irrigation dams in the district happens to be a contributing factor to the heavy flood since it has spill over adding the gravity of the water on the action to be severe. So many farm lands have been taken away by the water rendering those peasant farmers farmless since all their farm produce has been taken away by the rain.

Over 80 houses has been taken away in Duong and in some communities like Tagasie more houses were destroyed and about three major roads has been carried away by the rain such as Nadowli to Wa road, Fian to Daffiama road and also Bussie to Jirapa road
