Armed robbers assaulted Ashanti Gold on their way from Accra to Obuasi following their Ghana Premier League match against Hearts of Oak on Sunday night.
There were no injuries or fatalities, according to the club's Twitter feed, although the bandits shot three rounds at the bus in the process.
On our journey back from Accra, we were ambushed by armed robbers in the Assin Endwa area.
The bandits shot three rounds through the front bulletproof glass, according to Twitter, while "the team driver wandered his way through a horrific scene of shooting."
It was lucky that no significant injuries were sustained. The message further stated that "the entire squad is currently safe in Obuasi."
An accident occurred on the Accra – Assin Endwa highway about one hour after midnight.

The issue has been reported to the police and investigation will start soon to get those involved to be arrested.
