Just recently, a police officer escorting a Bullion Van was shot dead together with a pregnant woman at James Town due to armed robbery.
Another police officer has been beaten severely at Assin Akomfodi in the Central Region.
This mob action by unidentified fraudsters was caused in the process of arresting a fraudster who is known as Ibi.
The affected police officer identified as Awim Asante among a four squad police officer who were invited from Ashanti Region to arrest the Notorious fraudster, Ibi in Assin Akomfodi.
The is believe to has defrauded Mr. Nketsia who happened to report the case to the police.
The invited offer decided to storm the community, in their way to the house of Ibi, fortunately they met him on their way.
Ibi on the attempt to resist arrest called his boys who come with sticks, three police officers run away leaving sergeant Awin Asante behind.
The fraudster and his boy subjected him to severe beating leaving him in critical condition.
This is not the first time civilians has attack officer, we all remember what happened to Maxwell Mahama. The authority must do something about this immediately.
