Woman Miraculously Returns To Ghana After Being Maltreated By His Son In Brazil

Mary Akweley Koffie was invited by his son to stay with him in Brazil. This came as good news for her but unknowing to her, her son was going to take her through hardships and maltreatment. She said she became like a slave in the house of his biological son. Miracu

She mentioned that her plight started when her son was about to get married without her knowing. She tried to interfere and her son got angry and seized on her documents. She lived days without eating and was locked up in a room. His son told neighbours around that she had gone mad so whenever she cried for help, no one came to her rescue.

His son even took her to a psychiatric hospital where she was given some injections. It took the help of the Crime Check Foundation to set her free. She sent a voice message to the foundation here in Ghana and they contacted other Ghanaians in Brazil to help Madam Mary out. After the intervention of some Ghanaians in Brazil, his son released her documents to her.

Togbe Afede of the National House of Chiefs in Ghana heard the news and sent the woman money to buy plane tickets. The Ghanaian Zongo Youth community in Brazil also donated $1,000 to her to aid her return to Ghana.

The agents who helped her to return to Ghana called her son that the woman was returning to Ghana but his son told them he had travelled and cannot come over to help the woman in her travelling. Madam Mary said since she came back to Ghana, his son has not even called to find out her whereabouts or her state of health.

She tells how she had suffered in life to bring up his son and now he is repaying her with such bitter treatment. She told the CEO of Crime Check Foundation that it will be very difficult for her to forgive his son and that she has now come to a realization that she has no child in this world. Togbe Afede also donated GHC 4,000 to the woman for her upkeep.
