Woman allegedly attempted suicide over claims that she is the one responsible for the death of her husband at Ziope in the Agotime-Ziope district of the Volta region.
Madam Mavis Sedzro, a 40 year old woman allegedly drank weedicide over claims that she killed her husband weeks after his demise.
Available information indicates that she said she will rather kill herself to show she did not kill her husband and also to escape from the unbearable psychological pain she is going through as a result of the death of her husband and the resurging accusations which led to her indulgence in such an act.
The incident which happened on the 26th of May, 2021 at about 2:30PM at her home drew the attention of many to her rescue since that happened to be the market day of the town.
Noticing that madam Mavis was in distress whiles coughing up blood, vomiting, gasping for breath and disoriented, she was immediately rushed to the Ziope health centre for management. Upon investigations and management at the health centre she was subsequently refered out to the Ho teaching hospital for comprehensive and intensive care.
