The laws of Ghana are clear on the punishments for threatening the life of another person. Threatening the life of another falls contrary to section 75 of the act of the criminal offense, 1960 (ACT 29). This makes it an offense and anyone found guilty can spend a jail term.
This is the situation Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng popularly known as Funny Face is currently facing in the hands of the laws. The COP George Akuffo Dampare led police administration has exhibited clear signals to Ghanaians that irrespective of the position anyone is holding in the country, the laws must be made to work at all times.
This is the more reason why Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah was not spared when the laws caught up with him. Again, the COP George Akuffo Dampare Police Command has sworn to protect the lives of Ghanaians and anyone who tries to take the life of another in any way will be made to face the full rigors of the laws.
He has once again made every Ghanaian aware that threatening the life of another is a huge offense and Funny Face cannot be spared. Handcuff is seen on the wrists of the young man as he sat quietly at the custody of the police. The comedian is being prepared to face the court but the police is considering a mental examination due to his recent history.
However, if the Funny Face comes out as a sane man from the examination, he is set to face the criminal code of the country as stated above. In a video that has since gone viral, he threatened the mother of his babies with death whilst other prominent persons received insults. Funny Face can be charged for the death threats on another individual and that is the fresh trouble he will have to face.
This is an offense that can land him in prison, in the minimum scenario, the comedian and actor can spend a possible jail term of five years. But his psychiatric examination as being suggested by the police will determine the next line of action, however, that does not take away the fact that he has gone contrary to the laws and can be punished or jailed. This is a lesson to all that the life of another cannot just be threatened and go scot-free, the laws will definitely bite.
