Police in the Greater Accra Region earlier today arrested two men who had invaded the CPL Estate around the East Legon Hills in Accra for a robbery operation. The suspects, Samuel Agyei and Sumaila Mahama were arrested after the police reacted promptly to a distress call from residents and rushed to the area to meet the men who had already robbed an unnamed victim of his television set.

Apart from the arrest, the police also conducted on the spot search on the criminals which led to the retrieval a revolver pistol and four rounds of ammunition, 75 inch Curved TV, IPhone 12 Pro max, a tecno smart phone and Kia Morning Saloon Car which had been brought to the scene to convey the booty realised out of their robbery operation. The suspects are currently in police custody and will be put before court pending the conclusion of investigations.

In a statement announcing the arrest, the police commended residents of the CPL Estate who they said helped their officers to apprehend the suspects. The statement also assured the public of the readiness of the law enforcement agency to combat crime while also calling for enhanced Police-public partnership like the one exhibited by CPL residents which helped to arrest the criminals.
