A top journalist working with a Multimedia company, Samuel Mbura, has smartly given a reason why the panic withdrawals made by Ghanaians are needless. According to him, the only message Ghanaians are trying to send to armed robbers on their streets is that they have physical cash on them so they want to be attacked. This is a contrast to the message they want to convey to the government that they will not pay.
"Once you say you want to withdraw money from your momo wallet, then all that you are concluding is that you want to be walking with money in your pocket. Don't you think about your own security as a Ghanaian? Now, this gives signals to those unscrupulous guys on the street. Imagine the repercussions you are going to suffer", he explained.
He urged Ghanaians to get used to the tax even though they are against it.
