Another sad news hits Ashanti Region, as fire has engulfed the newly built administration block of the Asante Mampong College of Education. Information reaching us indicates that, earlier this morning there was flames of fire at the last floor of the building. This prompted those who were around to move some valuables inside the ground floor and called the fire service for help.
The structure is a two-storey and you could see that, the flames are all over the last floor destroying everything. The actual cause of the fire is not known because the information surrounding it is very scanty. The helpless students were standing in awe awaiting for the fire service to quench the fire.
The national fire service personnel came on the scene and started spraying water to bring down the fire. Fire outbreak is becoming rampant in the Ashanti Region. Just yesterday, Kumasi Central Market also caught up with fire destroying items which cost millions of cedis. The sad aspect of it is that, the structure is a newly built administration block for the school which was completed not long ago by a contractor. Nobody knows what actually happened or the exact cause.
