The recent upsurge in murder cases in the country is becoming disheartening and heartbreaking as series of cases have been recorded. Recent report released by the Ghana Police Service has it that, Ghana recorded over 313 murder cases between only the months of January and July with Ashanti Region topping the ranking.
It can be recalled that media space has been flooded with cases of murder including the gruesome one committed by Richard Appiah, who is suspected to have killed 3 young teenagers and kept their bodies in a fridge. Ghanaians have the last hope pending on the investigation being carried out by the police department.
Whilst Ghanaians are calling for an end to these disheartening issues, reliable news sources have captured the story hosted on vibrant television guru and firebrand journalist, Captain Smart on his televised morning show. This trending story was aired on today's edition of his show on Onua TV.
Captain Smart hosted a former Spiritualist who made several disturbing allegations on causes of murder and how they go about planning it. According to him, he had been contracted by several big men and politicians to perform some rituals for them. What is more surprising is the requirement for these ritual which sometimes demanded human blood and body parts. The former Spiritualist also alleged that he was contracted to kill and bury a pregnant woman alive for a Member of Parliament (name undisclosed) prior to the 2016 elections. Quoting his words, he said, "He is a popular MP who had contested for about 4 different times. After seeing how things were shaky for him before elections, he came to seek help and the requirement was to sacrifice a pregnant woman. And indeed, he won"
I am of the view that, this priest who has openly confessed to have killed a human being should be arrested and dealt with by the Ghana police. Captain Smart, who is the host also need to be invited for interrogations.
