Apsonic Ghana Limited, distributors of Apsonic Motorbikes has donated two jungle motorbikes and one hundred reflective aprons to the Northern Regional Police Command. The intervention, which also included ten infrared thermometer devices and branded umbrellas, forms part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility and is aimed at retooling the police to effectively fight crime.
During a short ceremony at the Regional Police headquarters in Tamale to handover the items, the General Manager Apsonic Ghana, Alhaji Adam Rashid, observed that the region was a thriving place for crime, hence the need for stakeholders to support the police to enhance Safety and security. Alhaji Rashid expressed confidence in the police force and as well lauded their effort at maintaining peace, law and order in communities across Ghana.
Regional Police Commander, COP Timothy Yoosah Bonga, who was on hand to receive the items expressed gratitude to the motorbikes distributing fir, promising that the items will be used judiciously in the police's effort to reduce crime rate in the region. COP Bonga disclosed that the motorcycles will come in handy as plans are advanced to roll - out Police Motorbike Squadron Unit to help extend patrol and fight crime in the hinterlands.
