You Are Wrong; Issue Apology Letter To Speaker- Sam George Tells Roads Minister

The member of parliament for Ningo Prampram constituency, Hon Sam George has told minister for roads and highways, Hon Amoako Atta that he is wrong after issuing statement that all toll booths across the country should stop collecting tolls. Hon Sam George speaking on TV 3 morning show today, Friday, 19th November, 2021 told roads and highways minister that he must issue apology letter to speaker of Parliament for going against orders in the house of parliament.

According to Hon Sam George speaking on the show, there are laws backing road tolls and the executive has no right to issue any directives to shut it down. He stated that only parliament have the right to do that and there is no any letter issued from the executives demanding for abolishment of road tolls in the country.

He expressed that in 1999, parliament made some acts of laws to back collection of road tolls so why should roads minister go against such directives and issue his own directives which parliament is not aware of? He told the minister to apologize and issue letter to parliament demanding for abolishment of road tolls else the speaker will never allow his orders to stand.

Hon Sam George stated that NPP government is not respecting the speaker of Parliament and questioned if the speaker of Parliament could have come from NPP would they treat him with such character? According to him, roads minister intentionally did that. He said the truth is that roads and highways minister is wrong and he must apologize to the speaker of Parliament immediately although he is his friend.
