11-Year-Old Pupil Gets Carried Away By Nsukwao After A Heavy Downpour At Anlotown-Alafia

The people of Anlotown-Alafia in the new Juaben South Municipality did not hear good news yesterday afternoon, as an eleven years of girl gets carried away by heavy flood on Tuesday afternoon.

This is very heartbroken and will be a blow to her family and relatives. The 11 years old girl is a pupil of the king of Kings Basic School and she is called Nafisatu Mumuni.

According to the information given by the Eastern Regional National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) the girl was walking home with her sibling and other school mates when it started raining. The river in the area, Nsukwao overflowed it banks and unfortunately the girl and her sibling slipped into the over flooded river and we're taken away.

But fortunately, her sibling was rescued and unfortunately she has not been found up till now. The body has still not been found as of Wednesday morning and the search party is still working downstream the Nsukwao Basin Drainage Project with the hope to find her.

The Regional NADMO Operations Director, Alfred Owiredu Agyeman and his zonal officers are still searching and hoping to find the Nafisatu Mumuni.
