It came to our notice recently that, there has been an upscale of fuel. This has sparked a lot of controversies that has led to a hashtag 'fix the country'. It is not new that, whenever there is increase in fuel prices, commodities also go high. Most especially, there is increase in transport fares.
The industrial relations officer of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) in the Greater Accra has therefore released a communique to the general public. According to the transport union, under the leadership of Alhaji Abass Imoro, the general public should expect an increment in transport fares on Wednesday May 5.
The communique was sighted on Instagram handle of TV3. This is because of the upscale of fuel that has increased to 4.4%. This has not gone down well with the public because the communique came as a surprise. We expect to see the percentage of the fare that will be added to previous fare.
