According to some investigations, Ghana loses an estimated GH¢370,000 daily at nine Axle Load Weigh Stations due to a tax evasion regime developed by some officials of the Ghana Highways Authority (GHA) and their assigned private agents at the various ports.
Mr. Mohammed Billet is currently in Police custody assisting in the investigation in his crime.
According to reports, the director undertook dubious transactions through his bank and mobile money accounts, excluding physical transactions. He makes a lot of cash from various these axle load roads and transfer it directly to his mobile money account.
According to Oman FM news, not only the director has been arrested but also, 22 other suspects has been arrested and are all in the police custody.
It took private agents at the Tema Port to bring out this information which was secretly done by the previous agents.
