Western Regional Police has finally released a statement concerning the death of the Half- Assini District police Commander, Superintendent Cyprian Zenge as he dead in gunshots at his own apartment.
According the the Western regional police public relations officer DSP Olivia Adiku said they regrettably reports of the demise of the commander as he was found death with a gunshots would at his residence at about 7:00 am on 30th January 2021.
"The region crime scene team has already visited the scene, where he was found on the floor and one spent ammunition under the chair. what appears to be a note written by the officer was also found at the scene." She said.
"Although, preliminary investigation point to the suicide, the investigation is opened to unravel the circumstances leading to the death of the police officer."She added.
She finally advised the public that," the death has been communicated to the officers family and the command urges all to be sensitive and circumspect in their reportage or commentary on the matter as investigation is on going."
