British High Commissioner to Ghana Given a Wonderful Local Name

The British High to Ghana has been given a new local name in Ewe by the Chief and People of Juapong.

A colourful ceremony was held in honour of her by the Chief and People of Juapong on the in the North Tongu Constituency.

The durbar in honour of British High Commissioner, H.E. Harriet Thompson was spearheaded by the NDC member of Parliament for the area Go. Okudzeto Ablakwa.

According or Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, the British High Commissioner, H.E. Harriet Thompson gladly accepted her North Tongu title of "Mama Dunenyo I."

He thanked his elders and people for making the occasion a memorable one. He noted "I remain exceedingly proud of our chiefs and queens who jealously preserve our traditions and are ever supportive."

He further stressed that the occasion was part opof their tourism initiatives and that may our ancestral Ghana-UK ties continue to flourish in the mutual interest of our people.
