The kind of attitude that some police officers are putting up these days is not the best. What is happening these days is getting out of hand. We think the leadership of the Ghana Police Service should organize in-service training for all police officers in Ghana.
We can talk about the reckless shooting from a police officer at Nkoranza which killed a final year student in the Bono East Region. The recent update at this time did not happen in the Bono East Region rather in the Central Region of Ghana.
An innocent woman who also happens to be a trader at Kasoa in the Central Region was attacked and assaulted by a police officer. It is very bad for a professional police officer to do this to an innocent woman.
According to the report, the Police officer whose name have not been identified as a result of investigation, had an issue with the a man who happen to be the husband of the woman (victim).
The contention between the police officer and the man was getting out of hand and the woman decided to intervene to ensure peace. But the police officer rather diverted his anger and attention on the woman. He beat the woman mercilessly without pity.
The woman was rushed to Kasoa Polyclinic for medical attention. According to the report, the condition of the victim (innocent woman) whose name has been identified as Jenifer Arthur is not getting better (it is getting worse).
Reporting from the Hospital on Kingdom News, Jenifer Arthur cannot sit alone without anyone supporting her. Her right hand has been swollen and the nurses have bandage it.
Jenifer Arthur is finding it very difficult to eat any solid food unless it in the form of liquid. Video from the Hospital shows how a man was serving Madam Jenifer with a drink.
Further report also indicate that, some police executives at Kasoa divisional Police Headquarters visited Jenifer Arthur at the hospital to find out how she is doing.
