In this part of our world, we depend on rain for our farming. In Ghana, especially in the Northern parts, rains should be seen as a blessing, however, it is not always the case. The rains have begun but this time around it is destroying properties in the Northern part of Ghana, instead of helping in productivity.
Lots of houses have been destroyed, properties and farms. Tamale especially has been flooded after about 2-3 hours of rain. In a video showcased by AdomTv, a young boy tried to find his way through the flood. As he moved along the banks of the water, he slipped into the overwhelming waters, and he sunk into the deep.
Fortunately for him, he found his feet and quickly rose out of the water. That would have been the end of his life if he had not been able to rise out of the water. The troubling thing about these floods is that the Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso has been opened and is expected to flow down towards the Northern part of the country.
Whenever the dam is opened, several towns in the Northern part of Ghana get flooded. This situation together with the recent torrential rains may cause disaster in the area.
