God have mercy. Kumasi floods, death toll rise to seven (7)

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) have confirmed that the death toll in the Kumasi flood has increased to seven from the four recorded since last week.

The Ashante Regional Administrator of NADMO, Nana Atakora Manu confirmed that two more deaths have been recorded at Aboabo in Kumasi between Saturday and Sunday.

Nana Takora indicated that, the dead bodies were identified at Sokoban, Anloga, Adoata and Atafoa. He said those who lost their lives among others are a 11 year old boy and about a fifty year old woman. Again, a one year old boy and her mother got drowned in Sawaba.

The rain has however displaced a lot of traders in Atasemanso, Asafo market and Kejetia Market.

Most affected residents have attributed the flooding to choked gutters in their municipalities. The residents are pleading on the government and NADMO to come to thier aid in difficult times as this.
