Former President John Dramani Mahama has reacted with sadness to the unfortunate sad incident which occurred at Appiate, a suburb of Bogoso in the Western Region in a medium to long worded statement on his official Facebook page tonight.
Acknowledging the sad incident which befell the entire country this afternoon, he noted that it is indeed a sad beginning for the year 2022 as dozens of innocent people have lost their lives in the huge explosion while several number of people have also been injured and are currently receiving treatment at the various hospitals and health centres in the region.
He went ahead to sympathize with the families of the victims in the Bogoso District of the Western Region and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured. He also urged the security and emergency services including the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Ambulance Service and the Ghana Police Service to continue to work assiduously towards preventing further spread of the disaster, and alleviate damage and suffering in the affected communities.
He pledged solid support from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the Chiefs and people of the affected areas and also to Ghana at large. He said that the NDC stands with them all through this time of grief.
