Even Before their NSS posting to government agencies, two prospective Service personnels could find themselves in a tight corner with the laws of Ghana.
Baffour Eric Filaasi boldly took to the official Facebook page of the Deputy National Service scheme Director Mrs Gifty Oware Aboagye to report themselves.
According to him, he and his brother have given a bribe of GH400.00 to an unknown officer for reposting. The officer had disguised himself to be working on behalf of the Deputy National Service Scheme Director, after the payment, the said officer suspected to be at the National Service headquarters has refused to pick their calls.
If he knew that his report could implicate him, I don't think he would have boldly spoken about the deal.
The Deputy National Service Director reminded the two young men of involving themselves in a serious crime. This is because, the giver and receiver of bribes are all culpable of the same offence per the criminal code of Ghana.
She However did not state whether she will get them arrested or not. She also disassociated the NSS from the bribe allegation and admonished others not to fall prey to scammers or pay any money for reposting or whatsoever. She also promised to pursue the number and fish out the scammer destroying the name of National Service Scheme.
People however begged for Baffour and his brother to be forgiven because they have been scammed.
