National Identification Authority is the full meaning of NIA. The National Identification Authority is responsible of creating, maintaining, providing and promoting the use of national identity cards in order to advance economic, political and social activities in the country as stated in our core mandate. They are also responsible of making sure that, all the people in Ghana get one of the Ghana Card. And the purpose of this Ghana Card is to use the data on a persons Ghana Card to establish whether they live in an area affected by a disaster to enable them to receive relief items. Also the Ghana Card will be use to access to Social Services. The National Identification Authority, Ghana has come out to inform the general public the latest decision the Authority has taken.
According to the National Identification Authority, Ghana, they have suspended the ongoing registration exercise for the Ghana Card in the all the 34 Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Centres. The National Identification Authority, Ghana added that, the suspension will start from Monday, 25th October, 2021 to 2nd November, 2021.
The National Identification Authority (NIA) also stated that persons who wish to register can come to their headquarters and register.
