Some People in high places are very selfish and greedy; whose intentions are completely different from the objectives the leaders want to achieve for this country, hence engage in illicit acts which will have dire consequences for the nation. This menace of illegal mining has been deliberated upon for many months and the general view is that it must be stopped.
However, new video footage emerging from Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region tells a different story and some unscrupulous persons are destroying our water bodies through the illegal activities of Galamsey. The river has changed color and the locals are aware that galamsey operations are going on there.
Sadly, those operating in the forest are believed to be foreign nationals and they are numbering over 2000. The gentleman who filmed the whole scene was of the opinion that the DCE and the regional Minister claim they are unaware of the galamsey activities being carried out along the banks of the river which is threatening its very existence as well as the livelihood of the people dwelling there.
What exactly is wrong with the black man? We have LEADERS and claim to be a LAW ABIDING Nation where Rule of Law reigns but we sit down for Galamsey to destroy everything in sight from our rich agricultural lands, polluting our major rivers, degrade our forests, and destroying our hardly constructed roads.
