Ghana have officially announced the 26 man squad that will fight for the country at the World Cup in Qatar this month.
This came after several fans and citizens made several complaints about how long it had taken the Ghana Football Association and the head coach to name the squad.
Nonetheless, the squad was still named with some controversial omissions. Crystal Palace’s midfielder, Jeffery Schlupp and in-form winger, Joseph Painstil and former AS Roma star, Felix Afena Gyan were some of the names that missed out on the final squad list.
Speaking about how he made the squad list, Coach Otto Addo revealed that it is one of the hardest things to do. He said “The big deal was calling the players or some players to tell them they are not going to the World Cup, that's the worst part,"
Ghana’s team has already settled in camp and have begun training for the World cup. The team is expected to face Switzerland on Friday in a friendly game.
