CAF CC: Accra Hearts Of Oak Set A Date With WAC After Beating CI Kamsar In Accra

Accra Hearts of Oak have advanced to the next stage of 2021/22 CAF Champions League after following a 2 - 0 win over Guinean club CI Kamsar in a one-off game at the Accra Sports Stadium. 

Striker Kofi Kordzi and enterprising midfielder Salim Adams scored the two goals for the Ghanaian representative. 

Accra Hearts of Oak will play WAC of Morocco in the next stage. 

Both teams failed to make better impressions after five minutes in the first half. Accra Hearts of Oak and CI Kamsar had faulty passes overshadowing their intent to break the deadlock, resulting in no shot on target. 

The game continued without go bound chances throughout to the tenth minutes. Teams possessed ball but give away easily. Daniel Afriyie Barnieh came close to goal after making a way into the final box but it ended in a corner kick, which was blown away.

CI Kamsar appeared to be enjoying the atmosphere as they kept their play in shape to avoid concession. 

Isaac Mensah after being linked upfront got his way off a defender but his curling shot went into the waiting arms of goalkeeper Daminola. 

Bangura sent a long drive in search of the opening goal for the visitors only to be taken care by goalkeeper Richard Atta. 

Three minutes to half hour mark, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh was pulled down closed to the final bo, but the resulting kick by Frederick Ansah Botchway glided high. CI responded with free kick which was poorly handled. 

Goal continued to eluded both teams in the midst of few attempts made towards glory.

Fatawu Mohammed made a run on his line, flighted in a cross for Daniel Afriyie Barnieh but goalkeeper Daminola came to the rescue of CI Kamsar.

Accra Hearts of Oak wove passes to surge forward, which eventually got to Raddy Ovouka who was brought down on the edge of the box, but Caleb Amankwaa had his kick blocked by the human wall. Few minutes later Emmanuel Nettey will blow away a decent chance in the box. 

Tackles flew from both sides as referee kept an eagle eye on proceedings. 

Richard Atta will make a timely save for Accra Hearts of Oak after CI Kamsar edged near goal. That ended the first half. 

Emmanuel Nettey unleashed a long drive for goal few seconds after second half kick off. 

Efforts from the two teams failed to yield positive results as the scores remained blank after fifty-five minutes. 

Accra Hearts of Oak had a goal denied after Isaac Mensah clashed with goalkeeper Daminola. A second goal will follow but referee will rule it offside. 

Accra Hearts of Oak pursed for the opener but CI Kamsar will have more men behind the ball making it difficult to sail through.

Kofi Kordzi put Accra Hearts of Oak into the lead after expertly converting a free kick. Accra Hearts of Oak added the second goal through Salim Adams.
