Black Stars Players Fail To Appear In 2022 Ballon D’or Nominess, Mane And Salah Make The List

The 2022 Ballon D’or nominees have been released with some African players making the list. Interestingly, there was no Ghanaian international in the 30 man list that was brought out today. African stars such as Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah, Riyad Mahrez and Sebastian Haller all appeared in the list.

Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah were key players for Liverpool last season as they chased glory both domestic and international. They also excelled for their respective countries with an African Cup of Nations final appearance in Cameroon this year.

Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah scored many goals to propel Liverpool into the finals of UEFA Champions League, only to fall to Real Madrid. They pursued Manchester City for the EPL title but were kept behind by the Manchester-based club.

Manchester City had Riyad Mahrez as an important squad member in their title success. He continues to glitter for the citizens.

Elsewhere in Black Stars, no player was recognized in the list of players who performed remarkably for their clubs. Thomas Partey and Jordan Ayew of Arsenal and Crystal Palace respectively are regarded as players who could have represented Ghana and Africa in the list but that did not happen as anticipated. There is another chance for them to prove their worth this season.
