The Senior National Team will face Madagascar and the Central African Republic in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers before traveling to Japan for the Kirin Cup against the hosts. He missed the playoffs game against Nigeria due to suspension but he is back into the team for the games ahead in June. Source

Which record is he chasing? Well, Dede Ayew is close to breaking Asamoah Gyan's record to become the most capped player on the National team. He is only six matches away from equalling the record and could go on to surpass him. He made his debut for the Black Stars in 2007 against Senegal in a friendly. He has made 103 appearances in 15 years of stay in the Black Stars and has scored 23 goals for the National team.
