Check out Asante Kotoko's last 8 matches in the GPL as they seek to win the 2021-2022 title

Record Ghana champions Asante Kotoko has eight matches to play as they seek to win this season's championship.

The Porcupines have some tough assignments ahead as we approach the tail end of the campaign.

Kotoko leads the standing by seven points ahead of this weekend's round of matches and, it starts at Sogakope on Saturday afternoon where they will play as guests to the West African Football Academy, WAFA.

This will be a difficult assignment for the Porcupines as WAFA are deeply involved in the relegation struggle and do need the points to aid their survival hopes.

After this Matchday 27 encounter, the Porcupines will return to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to host Aduana FC who are still in the title race and will not go down without a fight against the league leaders.

Asante Kotoko will then be engaged in a regional derby against rivals AshantiGold SC at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi in a Matchday 29 encounter.

This will be another difficult game for Kotoko to overcome at a venue they have suffered some embarrassing defeats at in the past.

Berekum Chelsea will come next for the Porcupines in a home game in Kumasi before they trek to Tarkwa to play Medeama SC at the Akoon Park where they have struggled at in the last couple of seasons.

Asante Kotoko will then head to Accra to take on Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium in a second successive game on the road and, this will be another tough assignment to complete.

Afterwards, they will return to the Garden City to host Elmina Sharks at the Baba Yara Stadium before taking to the road again to face Accra Lions in their last game of the campaign.

The Porcupines will hope to have amassed an unassailable lead at the top of the stairs before some of these matches come up as they seek to win the diadem.
