“My Father Will Disown me if I don’t Choose Kotoko” - Black Stars Striker

Ghana striker, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has told Radio Gold Sports that his father would disown him if he preferred any other club apart from Kotoko.

The 29-year-old has had a roller coaster career having played for five different clubs in Italy including top ones like Juventus, Atalanta and Sassuolo.

He has had a loan stint at Spanish club, Elche and spells in Poland, Serbia and China.

He last played in Israel for Beitar Jerusalem and he told Adamu Muftawu of Radio Gold Sports that he would choose to play for Asante Kotoko on any day.

“My father would disown me if I don’t choose Asante Kotoko,” Boakye Yiadom told Radio Gold Sports.

“My father is a full Asante Kotoko fan, my mother is a full Asante Kotoko fan, my brother is Asante Kotoko fan.

“Phobians are my friends but if I have to choose a club, I would go for Asante Kotoko.

“My heart belongs with Kotoko and it’s because of two players, Kwabena Dodzi and Stephen Oduro.

“If I look at my fan base in Kumasi when the national team plays there, the fans will not let you down.

“Even though I have Accra fans but the Kumasi fans support players a lot.” Boakye Yiadom told Radio Gold Sports.

Boakye Yiadom is currently a free agent but is likely to sign a new deal.
