Portugal ace is confident of qualifying for the World Cup.
When Portugal secured World Cup qualification in Lisbon on Sunday evening, Aleksandar Mitrovic appeared with a final header to overtake Serbia in the overall standings.
The reaction has heavily criticized coach Fernando Santos, highlighting the quality of the squad and the delicate position they are in now.
Portugal are now going into a playoff with 12 teams fighting for just three places in Qatar.
In response to the result, Cristiano posted Ronaldo on Instagram, who had also shown his misfortune when he raged on the field against Santos after the final whistle.
"Time and time again, football has shown us that the path is sometimes more complex but leads us to more desired results," Cristiano Ronaldo said in the post.
"Yesterday's result was very difficult, but it was not enough to drown us out. Our goal is to reach the 2022 World Cup still very much alive and we know what we have to do to make it happen.
"There are no excuses, Portugal is going to Qatar."
In the appendix, they will be joined by Russia, Sweden and North Macedonia, while one from Italy or Switzerland, and one from the Netherlands, Turkey and Norway will be added.
Portugal went through the same level in 2014, when Ronaldo scored a hat-trick against Sweden to secure qualification.
