GPL update: WAFA coach Hamdan Zaragoza resigns as club is destined for relegation

Coach of West African Football Academy, (WAFA) Guillermo Hamdan Zaragoza has resigned his position at the club with the academy lads set to be relegated from the Ghana Premier League, GPL competition.

The Spaniard has not been able to steer WAFA out of the woods this season as they have been a constant figure in the relegation zone.

He has decided to throw in the towel as this crucial stage of the campaign when there's five matches to go and with WAFA in the bottom three on the table.

The academy lads will have to win all of their remaining matches and hope other results favour them to stand in with a chance of savaging their season.

Guillermo Hamdan Zaragoza was brought in to propel WAFA to greater heights before the start of this campaign after the side finished last season third on the table behind Asante Kotoko and eventual winners Accra Hearts of Oak.

He has however not been able to improve on the work done by now Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Nartey Ogum who was in charge of WAFA last season.

Chieftains at the Sogakope-based side will now have to dig deep into their arsenal in a bid to retain their GPL status for another season in what has been a very disappointing campaign to say the least.
