BBC Sports Journalist Proposes Former England Star to Ghana Coach Otto Addo

The Black Stars squad was boosted by the nationality switch of some foreibaded players ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Head coach, Otto Addo is likely to have a selection headache following the nationality switch of seven good players with notable names like Inaki Williams of Atletico Bilbao of the Spanish La Liga.

The Black qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after going past the Super Eagles of Nigeria over two legs.

The first leg of the qualifiers ended goalless at the Baba Yara Stadium in Mumasi with the second leg ended 1-1 at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

One of the players to switch allegiance from England to Ghana is Tariq Lamptey who plays for English Premier League club, Brighton and Holve Albion.

Renowned BBC Sports journalist, John Bennett says he cannot wait to see the right-back in the Black Stars jersey.

“I can’t wait to see him [Tariq Lamptey] in the Black Stars shirt ahead of the [FIFA] World Cup.

“I think he can really make a difference down the right hand side for Ghana.” John Bennett told Gold TalkSport.
