Breaking: Black Stars head coach C.K Akonnor has been sacked.

C.K, who previously captained the senior national men’s soccer team, was appointed head coach in January 2020 following the departure of James Kwasi Appiah. He was James Kwasi Appiah’s assistant in his last three months before he was sacked. Will be showing you a photo of him below.

After 20 months in charge, “The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has taken a decision to terminate the appointment of Black Stars Coach Charles Akonnor and his two Assistants with immediate effect,” the GFA announced on Monday, September 13, 2021. He managed 10 games with the last being a goal to nill loss in Group G 2022 of the on going World Cup qualifier.

C.K was sacked together with his two assistants including David Duncan. The Executive Council of the Ghana FA has formed a three-member committee made up of Vice President Mark Addo, Upper East Regional Football Association Chairman Alhaji Salifu Zida and Randy Abbey to find a Head Coach and Assistant Coaches for the Black Stars within the next 72 hours.
