The undulated nature and seamed condition of the pitch has got many media personalities whingeing on various social media platforms.
According to them, the quality of the pitch doesn’t deserve to host a national match or classify as a stadium.
In fact, the deteriorated pitch alone cannot pass any standardised pitch test in the world.
Therefore, they urged the authority which is responsible for the maintenance of the stadium to work effectively and competently in order to eschew international embarrassment.
Kevin Taylor wrote that
“For one to know if a country is doing well or not they just have to visit their zoo and see the lions in there, they will have a clear idea of it’s leadership. Accra sports stadium pitch looks like Prof. Adei mustache.”
Abdul Hayi Moomen wrote that
“Who is in charge of maintenance at the Accra Sports Stadium?”
Saddick Adams wrote that
"If not the poorest, the Accra stadium is perhaps one of the poorest pitches to host a AFCON2021 Qualifier of all the countries. The shame we continue to put this our country is unimaginable.”
