Bad News For Ghana As Disqualified From 4×100 World Relay

Ghana was able to qualify for the world 4×100 in the Olympic Games currently on going.

A sad news coming from the camp of Ghana in the Olympics Games is that the athletes were disqualified for breaking changeover rules.

These Ghanaian athletes representing the country emerged third in the finals with Brazil and South Africa ahead them with a time of 39.11s.

Few minutes after the race,when time confirmations were made, this sad news came from the Olympics board as Brazil and Ghana were disqualified.

Ghana was disqualified as a result of a changeover rule they broke. When this change over was taken outside the authorised zone.

The disqualification of Ghana, came due to a late changeover – Rule TR 24.7 which ensued between the pair of Azamati and Joseph Manu.

Due to this, South Africa, Italy, Japan and Denmark were the only four countries who had times recorded out of the eight competing countries in the men's 4×100m.

This disqualification means the team loses $10,000 prize money.

The good side of this issue is that, the decision has been called for appeal from team of Ghana

Ghana has already secured a good place in the Olympic Games when it comes to the Athletics Championship with the help of these good athletes Benjamin Azamati, Safo Antwi, Joseph Paul Amoah and Manu Joseph.
