The Black Stars of Ghana went into the game with the intention to grab the 3 maximum points in order to move ahead of South Africa in Group G. The plans of the Black Stars did not succeed as the clash between the two sides ended in a 1:1 draw. The Black Stars of Ghana took the lead in the game courtesy a first half goal scored by Al Sadd's striker, Andre Dede Ayew. The Walias of Ethiopia fought and had the equalizer in the second half courtesy a goal scored by Getoneh Kedebe.
Prior to this game, Ghana needed at least 4 points in its two remaining games to qualify for the next round of the qualifiers. The 1:1 draw today puts Ghana on level points with South Africa but South Africa still tops the Group with 10 points; something which was not planned for.
South Africa would also play against bottom-placed, Warriors of Zimbabwe today at 7:00 PM GMT. Ghanaians would eagerly be following this game as the outcome of this game is very crucial for the Black Stars of Ghana.
Ghana will be playing its last group game against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Cape Coast Stadium in three days (on Sunday, November 14, 2021). For Ghana to progress to the next round, the Black Stars would have to win this game at all costs. What is your prediction for this game? Would the Black Stars be able to beat South Africa at home and qualify for the next qualification round?
What do you make of Ghana's performance in today's game? On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate Ghana's performance today? Kindly leave all your comments below.
