Versatile defender in the Ghana Premier League close to sealing a permanent move to a new club

Christopher Nakai Nettey who was born on 17th July 1998, is a Ghanaian footballer who plays as a righ-back for Asante Kotoko and the Ghana National football team. The youngster is tipped as one of the promising defenders in the coming years as a result of his aggression against opposition clubs.

Nettey began his career at Division One League side Attram De Visser Soccer Academy, before joining Accra Great Olympics on loan.

In December 2019, Asante Kotoko announced that they had signed him from Accra-based club Attram de Visser Soccer Academy on a three-year contract.

In the 2019-20 Ghana Premier League season, Nettey played in all 13 matches in his debut season for the club and won 3 NASCO man of the match awards before the league came to an abrupt end and was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 22 year old is close to sealing a move to Europe to continue his career according to various media reports.Swedish club IFK Goteborg have made an offer in the region of €100,000 - €150,000 for the services of Nettey.

He has made 13 appearances for Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League where he has scored once. Kotoko take on Legon Cities this weekend as their next fixture in the Ghana Premier League.
