After Otumfuo's image on the new kotoko jersey controversy, The club,Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been ordered by the Palace of the King of the Ashanti Kingdom to remove the said image from their jerseys.

Asante Kotoko unveiled the new jersey weeks ago with the intention of celebrating the King who has been a pillar of peace. However, this has not gone down well with most fans and well wishes of the club as well as servants of the great King, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
According to a report by Kessben Media, The Palace of the King, invited the management of the club for a meeting earlier this week and the outcome was the order to remove the imprinted images of the King from both home and away jerseys.
Asante Kotoko is currently scheduled for a pre-season tour in Turkey ahead of the start of the new season. It is hoped that their jersey designers, Errea together with the management of the club will bring up something new for their fans in the coming weeks.
