The second Matchday of the 2021/2022 season of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) was witnessed over the weekend. There were several exciting fixtures in the second Matchday.
Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club played against WAFA at Sogakope in the second Matchday few days ago. The game ended in a 1:1 draw. This is a second draw in two games for The Phobians. Would the Phobians bounce back in the next game to claim the 3 maximum points?
The GPL action continued today with several games among the clubs. Asante Kotoko played its second game of the season against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the first time in about 90 weeks. The Porcupine Warriors scored two late goals (in the 87th and 94 minutes) today to secure the 3 maximum points at home. This is the second time that the Porcupine Warriors have scored late goals to grab the 3 points. The victory today pushed the Porcupine Warriors to the top of the GPL table.
Accra Great Olympics also won its game against newly promoted side, Accra Lions to move to the 3rd position on the league table. King Faisal made it 2 wins in a row and is currently at the 2nd position. Dreams FC bounced back from its GPL opener loss to Asante Kotoko to win its 2nd league game today. Dreams put three goals past Elmina Sharks to grab the 3 points from the game.
